Ingredients
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter or marg.
1 c. dark molasses
2 eggs
4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 tsp. ginger
Preparation
Cream together sugar & butter. Add molasses and unbeaten eggs. Mix well. Sift together the dry ingredients and stir in. Put 1/4 c. sugar in a small bowl. Dip fingers into the sugar, then pinch one ball of dough at a time. Roll each to the size and shape of a walnut. Dip rolled balls into sugar & place on greased cookie sheet about three inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Makes about four dozen large soft cookies. The dough will keep a long time in the refrigerator.
