Ingredients
First Group:
1/2 lb. Italian sausage
1 chopped onion
3 cloves chopped garlic
1/3 cup barley
Second Group:
3 quarts chicken stock
1 whole chicken breast, skinned, boned, and cut up
1 cup lentils
1/2 cup chopped parsley
Third Group:
1 12 oz. jar of salsa (mild or medium)
1 16 oz. can of garbanzo beans
Preparation
First Group -sauté together until all nicely done
Add Second Group to this. Simmer for about 1 hour.
Add Third Group and heat through. Add some chopped fresh spinach at the last minute to preserve bright green color.
