Ingredients
2 cups Basamati Rice
4 cups water
4-5 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seed
3 tsp red lentils (channa dhal)
2 tsp green lentils ( bead dhal)
4-5 red chilies (break open)
1 1/2 tsp salt
3-4 tsp lemon juice
1 handful peanuts
Preparation
- Cook rice and let it cool down
- Heat oil in medium pan (low to medium heat)
- Add peanuts when oil is hot ( when you add a peanut you will see small bubbles around it)
- Remove the peanuts when they are 1/2 brown
- To the same oil add mustard seeds, lentils and chillis. Red lentil start to turn light brown and mustard seeds pop
- Mix rice in bowl ( make loose with a large spoon)
- Add mixture to rice, mix
- Add Lemon juice, mix
- Add Salt and mix
