Ingredients

2 cups Basamati Rice

4 cups water

4-5 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard seed

3 tsp red lentils (channa dhal)

2 tsp green lentils ( bead dhal)

4-5 red chilies (break open)

1 1/2 tsp salt

3-4 tsp lemon juice

1 handful peanuts

Preparation

  • Cook rice and let it cool down
  • Heat oil in medium pan (low to medium heat)
  • Add peanuts when oil is hot ( when you add a peanut you will see small bubbles around it)
  • Remove the peanuts when they are 1/2 brown
  • To the same oil add mustard seeds, lentils and chillis. Red lentil start to turn light brown and mustard seeds pop
  • Mix rice in bowl ( make loose with a large spoon)
  • Add mixture to rice, mix
  • Add Lemon juice, mix
  • Add Salt and mix
