Ingredients

1 cup butter

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

grated zest of 1 lemon

1 tsp lemon extract

1 tsp vanilla

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup buttermilk or sour cream

For glaze:

juice of 1 lemon

a lot of regular granulated sugar

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, zest and flavorings. Alternately add dry ingredients (mixed together) and buttermilk/sour cream, beginning and ending with flour. Spoon batter into greased and floured bundt pan and bake at 350 for 50 min, or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.

Cool 10 minutes, then remove from pan. Mix lemon juice with sugar to make glaze (will be gritty). Brush with glaze while still warm. Cool cake completely before serving.
