Ingredients
2 cups cold vodka
½ cup cold fresh lemon juice
½ cup simple syrup (but start by adding ¼ cup and tasting)
Splash Contrieu
Lemon peel strips made with vegetable peeler
Ice
Preparation
For the simple syrup, combine 1 cup sugar with ½ cup water and bring to a boil to dissolve sugar, cool. Combine vodka, lemon juice & simple syrup (starting with ¼ cup simple syrup) and taste. If you use Meyer lemons, you won’t need any more syrup. Conventional lemons are more tart though. Add more syrup if you like. Pour over ice into shaker than strain in to martini glasses with peel floating in center (curled).
