Ingredients

1-pound Italian sausage

1 clove garlic, minced

1 TBSP fresh basil

1 ½ tsp salt

1 ¼ cups of tomatoes, diced

dash of sugar

2 6oz cans tomato paste

1-cup water

3 cups fresh ricotta

2 eggs

2 TBSP parsley flakes

½ cup grated romano or parmesan cheese

1tsp salt

1 pound mozzarella, sliced thin (or grated)

10oz lasagna noodles

Preparation

1.Brown sausage, drain fat. 2. Add diced tomato, garlic, basil, salt, sugar, and tomato paste with 1 cup of water. 3. Cover and simmer for 2 to 4 hours. Stir often. 4. Preheat oven 375° 5. Beat eggs. 6. Add ricotta, parmesan and parsley. 7. Cook pasta in gently boiling water for 9 minutes. Drain 8. Layer a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan:

- Lasagna noodles

- Ricotta mixture

- Meat sauce 

- Mozzarella

  1. Repeat.
  2. Bake for 30 minutes
  3. Set aside for 10 minutes before slicing.

Tastes great with cheap rosé and garlic bread.
