Ingredients
Creme de Cassis (Blackcurrent liqueur), or Creme de Mures (blackberry liqueur), or Cerise a l’eau-de-vie (Cherry liqueur).
Champagne (a good quality one), or a white wine. The French white wine of the following type is used: Aligote from Bourgogne.
But, if you can’t get this white wine, then any dry white wine will work, such as Chardonnay.
Preparation
You place the berry liqueur in a cup, and then pour the white wine or champagne over it. The wine and/or champagne should be cold.
The regular white wine version is called just a ‘Kir’ in French. But, if you make it with champagne (and it does taste sooo much better and you get cool bubbles) then it’s called a “Kir Royal”.
