Ingredients

4 ounces provolone cheese, finely shredded (1 cup)

2 tablespoons prepared hot mustard or horseradish mustard

3 tablespoons finely chopped onion

1 171/4-ounce package (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed

6 ounces cooked kielbasa, sliced into 32 pieces

Preparation

Combine cheese, mustard, and onion in a small bowl; set aside. Roll out each puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch square. Cut each into sixteen 3-inch squares. Place one slice of kielbasa in the center of each square and top with a rounded 1/2 teaspoon of reserved cheese mixture. Brush pastry edges with water; bring four corners to center over filling and pinch tightly to seal edges. Place on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes or till golden. Serve warm. Makes 32.

Preparation time: 30 minutes. Baking time: 18 minutes.

To make ahead: Place unbaked pastries in airtight containers or wrap in foil. Freeze up to 2 months. Thaw in refrigerator about 4 hours; bake as directed.
