Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. ginger liqueur
1 oz. amber rum (such as Ron de Barrilito or Old New Orleans Amber Rum)
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp light brown sugar
sprig or two of mint
small, peeled piece of ginger
wedge of lime
Preparation
muddle ginger, mint, brown sugar and wedge of lime in bottom of cocktail shaker, add liquids and stir to help dissolve sugar. Add ice to shaker, shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glass, float with mint leaves, or (Kelly’s preference) strain over ice into rocks glass with a spear of ginger and/or lime wedge
