Ingredients

Sift together in medium bowl:

4 c flour

2 T ginger

4 t baking soda

2 t cinnamon

1 1/2 c butter, softened

2 c white sugar

2 eggs

1/2 c molasses

medium granulated sugar, if on hand.

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325.

In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar, eggs and molasses with an electric mixer.

Stir in sifted, dry ingredients in batches. Refrigerate batter for a few hours.

Roll batter into balls a teaspoon at a time. Roll top half of ball in sugar and place on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.

Bake at 325 for 10 minutes. Cookies will be about 2 inches in size.
