Ingredients
1/3 # bacon (thick cut black pepper bacon is the best)
1 large onion-chopped
2 x large cans Bush’s baked beans
2 x 15 oz cans butter beans
2 x 15 oz cans kidney beans
1 c. ketchup
2 t. dried mustard
¼ c. dark brown sugar
2 T. apple cider vinegar
smoked chipotle powder to taste
Preparation
Chop bacon into small bits and fry in a large dutech oven until crisp. Remove bacon, reserve fat.
Saute onion in bacon drippings in same pan.
Add all the cans of beans and remaining ingredients. Bring to boil on stove top.
Stir bacon bits back into pot. Then cover and bake at 325 until thickened and bubbling – about an hour.
