Ingredients
1 1/2 lb. ground lean meat
3 T. grated onion
1 C. dry breadcrumbs made from dark bread
1 T. water
2 eggs
3 T. finely chopped parsley
1 t. chopped fresh mint
pinch of oregano
1/2 t. salt
freshly ground pepper
oil for deep frying
1/2 C. flour
Preparation
Combine all ingredients except oil and flour. Beat until mixture is light. Set aside one hour. Form into egg shaped balls. Dredge in flour. Deep fry in hot oil for 5 to 10 minutes until nicely browned. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with Tzatziki.
