Ingredients
1 lb ground lamb or beef
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, crushed
2-inch piece of ginger, grated
2 green chillies, chopped (use more or less depending on your taste)
1 cup frozen peas
1 medium tomato chopped
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp garam masala
1/4 tsp tumeric
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper powder
salt and black pepper to taste
2-3 tbsp chopped cilantro
Preparation
- Fry the onion, garlic, ginger, and chillies in 1 tbsp oil until the mixture starts to turn golden.
- Add the spices and mix well.
- Add the meat and cook until it is no longer pink.
- Add the tomato and any juices. Cook for 2 minutes to break down the tomato.
- Add the peas and lemon juice. Turn the temperature down and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring often.
- Fold in the cilantro and serve.
