Ingredients

1 c medium groats

1 egss

2 cups boiling water

1 t salt

1 onion diced

2 t chicken fat

Preparation

Place the groats in a frying pan. Stir in egg and,over high heat, stirring constantly until the grains are dry. Transfer groats to a large saucepan. Add the boiling waterand salt. Cover and cook over moderate heatfor about 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Saute onions in chicken fat until brown. Add to groats. Cook bow ties according to package direction and mix together with kasha and serve. Goog with pot prast and gravy.
