Ingredients
One chocalate cake mix with no pudding in the mix, One small package chocolate instant pudding mix, One cup oil, 3/4 cup of water, 4 eggs, 1/4 cup plus 2 tbls. Kahlua, 1/4 cup vodka, For the syrup- One cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of water, 1/2 cup butter (one stick), 2tbls kahlua, 2 tbls. vodka, For the frosting- 4 oz. of bittersweet chocolate,
1/3 cup heavy cream, 1 tbls. Kahula.
Preparation
Mix cake mix, pudding mix, oil, water, eggs, kahlua, and vodka in mixing bowl until mixed and put into a well greased and floured bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees until knife inserted comes out clean, about35-40 minutes. While the cake is baking, boil sugar, 1/4 c. water and butter until the sugar dissolves. set aside. Right before the cake comes out of the oven add the 2 tbls Kahlua and 2 tbls. of vodka to the sugar syrup mixture and immediately pour over the cake. Let cake cool. To make the ganache frosting, break up the chocolate into small pieces in a heat safe bowl. Heat the cream until just before it boils. Pour the cream and the kahula over the chocolate and let sit 5 min or until the chocolate is melted. Whisk the mixture until it thickens. If you want the mixture thinner, just add more cream. When the cake has cooled completely, turn cake over and drizzle frosting onto cake. The frosting will set with time (approx. 1-2 hours, but not necessary to serve)
