Ingredients

1 sweet onion

1 red bell pepper

2 cloves garlic

2 cups chopped fresh basil

1 16 ounce can chopped tomatoes

1 12 ounce can tomato sauce

Preparation

Cook onion pepper and garlic in olive oil until onion is transparent.

Ad chopped (not too fine) fresh basil and cook until it wilts.

Add tomatoes and tomato sauce and simmer 15-20 minutes

Add 2 small packages of rotini or rigatoni that has been cooked only partially as pasta will continue cooking in the sauce. Cook for 5-10 minutes.

Serve sprinkled with parmesan cheese or you can put ingredients in oven proof pan, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and cook until cheese is browned.
