Ingredients
1.25 lb mild italian sausage, casing removed & sliced or chunked
1 med onion, chopped (we like ours in big chunks)
29 oz can tomato puree
28 oz diced tomatoes
1 small can sliced mushrooms (or portabella chunks)
25 black olives, halved (Yes, Jay counts them
2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
1 rounded tsp sugar
1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
Preparation
Cook sausage in fry pan until done. In the mean time, in large sauce pan saute onion and garlic in olive oil until just soft. Add all other ingredients and mix. Stir occasionally and simmer for 30 minutes, or more if you have the time. (It’s even better the next day.)
