Ingredients
One box ready made pie crust
6 cups fresh peaches
2 tbsp on flour
3/4 cups sugar (yes, that’s it!)
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp almond extract (this is the secret ingrdient)
heavy whipping cream (optional)
Preparation
- Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place pie crust in ungreased dish
- In large bowl, mix all other ingredients (if you use canned peaches, I only use the juice from one can)
- Pour in peaches, cover with layer of crust and cut slits in upper crust
- Use basting brush to spread thin layer of heavy whipping or extra juice from the peaches
- sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on the top of the brushed cream
- Bake for about 45 mins to an hour, remove when crust is golden
