Ingredients
1 (28 oz) can of Contadina® Crushed Tomatoes with Italian herbs
3 oz of Contadina® Tomato Paste with Roasted Garlic
1/2 box of elbow macaroni
1 (16 oz) package ground mild Italian sausage (or mild turkey Italian sausage), removed from casing and crumbled
1 small onion, diced
1/2 green pepper, diced
2 cloves of garlic, diced
1 tbsp of dry basil
Preparation
- Boil 1/2 box of elbow macaroni according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet brown the sausage with the diced onion, green pepper, and garlic. Drain and then set aside.
- Place the crushed tomatoes with Italian herbs and tomato paste with roasted garlic in the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the sausage and macaroni.
- Stir and let simmer for 12 minutes.
- Top with the dry basil and serve.
