Ingredients

1 (28 oz) can of Contadina® Crushed Tomatoes with Italian herbs

3 oz of Contadina® Tomato Paste with Roasted Garlic

1/2 box of elbow macaroni

1 (16 oz) package ground mild Italian sausage (or mild turkey Italian sausage), removed from casing and crumbled

1 small onion, diced

1/2 green pepper, diced

2 cloves of garlic, diced

1 tbsp of dry basil

Preparation

  1. Boil 1/2 box of elbow macaroni according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet brown the sausage with the diced onion, green pepper, and garlic. Drain and then set aside.
  3. Place the crushed tomatoes with Italian herbs and tomato paste with roasted garlic in the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the sausage and macaroni.
  5. Stir and let simmer for 12 minutes.
  6. Top with the dry basil and serve.
